Easy Milk Bread Dessert Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 slices milk bread (white bread works too)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon custard powder or cornflour
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • Chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews, raisins) – optional
  • Chocolate syrup / honey – optional


Method

  1. Prepare bread:
    Cut bread slices into small cubes or triangles.

  2. Make milk sauce:
    Heat milk in a pan, add sugar, and stir until dissolved.
    Mix custard powder (or cornflour) with a little cold milk and add to the pan. Stir continuously.

  3. Add flavor:
    Add butter and vanilla essence. Cook until the milk thickens slightly.

  4. Combine:
    Add bread pieces to the milk mixture. Cook for 2–3 minutes until soft.

  5. Garnish:
    Add dry fruits and drizzle chocolate syrup or honey if desired.


Serving Tips

  • Serve warm for a soft pudding-like texture
  • Chill it for 30 minutes for a cold dessert
  • Top with ice cream for extra taste 


Variation Ideas

  • Add cocoa powder for a chocolate flavor
  • Sprinkle cardamom powder for a desi twist
  • Use condensed milk instead of sugar for richness
